WHO I AM

Based in Brisbane

I offer a unique type of massage treatment built around my own experience in professional sport and therapeutic work with sports teams as well as clinically with members of the public. The purpose is to provide relief from muscular pain associated with sport, work, injuries, poor posture and other stresses routinely encountered in daily life.

My Background

As a professional athlete, I have spent years seeking effective treatments for my own bodily aches and pains. During twelve years of active competition in Thai boxing, I found myself dealing with chronic muscular problems as well as acute injuries, including soft tissue damage such as sprains, bruising and swelling, fractured ribs, feet and hands, and ongoing muscular problems affecting my shoulders, hips, knees and especially neck and lower back.

During the later stages of my sports career I decided to pursue bodywork as a means of further improving my understanding of human anatomy, body mechanics, proper posture and injury management and it has been helping me train relatively pain free for the last few years. I was able to improve my posture, stabilise my joints and train smarter to avoid unnecessary pain. Today I'm utilising my experience to help clients achieve the similar goals in pain management.

Neck and Lower Back Pain

The most common reasons people seek massage treatment are either for relief from neck pain and headaches or for lower back pain. Many of us display forward head posture due to spending far too long working at a desk or driving. This tightens our chest and posterior neck muscles which can cause referred headache pain, and is also associated with weakness in the muscles of the upper and mid back and anterior neck. By treating fascia and trigger points in these muscles and mobilising the cervical and thoracic joints I have been able to give many clients relief from neck pain and tension headaches. Similarly, by releasing tight muscles around the hips and working to increase core strength I’ve been able to help numerous clients with effective management of lower back pain.
